Rudolph? A religious song? Sheesh!

When will this insane PC-ness end? Christine the Curmudgeon just saw on the news about how some idiot parent at a school in North Carolina complained about this song being in a school Christmas show. You can read the story online HERE.
However, sanity has prevailed, and the song was declared to be secular. The parent, who is Jewish, complained that this is a religious song because it mentions the word “Christmas”.
My idea of religious Christmas songs are songs like “Silent Night”, “The First Noel”, and other songs about the birth of the baby Jesus. I always thought that Rudolph, Frosty, and Santa were okay for everybody.
Some people seem to look for things to get offended over. But hell, my friend Kat is an atheist. She and her boys celebrate Christmas, they watch Christmas shows and movies and all. They just do the secular stuff, trees, gifts, etc. They don’t go to church or anything. And yes, they use the word “Christmas”. They don’t call the tree some dumb crap thing like a “magical tree”. I am not making this up; some school in the Boston area, a few years ago, demanded that Christmas trees be referred to as “magical trees”.
Besides, there are much serious problems going on in schools, worrying about a stupid song is nothing compared to that. People need to lighten up already!
Oh, and in his now-classic Hanukkah Song, Adam Sandler mentions Christmas in it…TWICE! Should Jews be offended by THAT, too? But then again, he says that you should “smoke your mara-juanic-ah”, which would offend a whole ‘nother group of people.
I say just do what you want, no matter what you do, it will offend SOMEONE. That’s just the way it is these days!
