Think of it this way about the kids on the Ellen show: at least they're doing something useful and productive with themselves instead of being out on the street acting like hoodlums. I think they deserve some praise for that at least. :)

The problem is that the boss is probably going to take his sweet time deciding if Mike or the other guy will have to go. And to get it that quickly, the website says that you have to have tickets and stuff IN HAND, which he doesn't have, and may not get until it's too late. This boss guy is a serious idiot, one of those rich assholes who thinks that the world will run on HIS schedule or else.

I wish he would just die and go to hell already.

As the above person says, if he goes to the passport office he should be able to get one same or next day.

I did that once when my hubby had to travel overseas on short notice and we wanted me to go with him.

Christine... I see on the website http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_830.html, at the bottom, if it's needed sooner than he would get the passport then he needs to make an appointment at a regional passport agency. I would tell him to wait until it's less than 2 weeks before he's due to leave.

From that website: You may make an appointment to be seen at a Passport Agency only if:

    * You need a U.S. passport in less than 2 weeks for international travel

There is one in Boston and they issue a US passport card on site.

Mrs. LaPointe was on the national news television show "Fox & Friends" todayl. See it here:
http://video.foxnews.com/v/4228811/missing-hospital-workers

The front page of today's Sunday newspaper features that due to Mrs. LaPointe's bravery in going public & demanding accountability, others are now coming out with horror stories about this same ER. This woman rushed to the same ER with a punctured vein, bleeding everywhere. There was not a hospital employee in sight. Security guards horsed around & dangled keys over her head as she paced waiting for help that never came. She was forced to leave to find help & went to another hospital. Here is the link: http://www.patriotledger.com/news/x682903551/Brockton-emergency-room-incident-highlights-need-for-response-to-walk-ins

Everyone can easily play monday morning quarterback with the would've, could've, should've but this woman's actions saved her baby's life, which is more than can be said for the hospital. Thank God she is going public to demand action. Because of her, the state dept of public health is investigating. She may be the difference that is needed so that this never happens to another person again. She is a hero.

I just came across your blog, I love it! I was going to comment on your blog about the RMV people, but the comments were closed. Anyways, I had the WORST experience at the RMV today. I am also from Massachusetts, yeah, and I was going for my license test (again might I add). So, before I even got to the car for my road test, we had this evil woman named Sandy. She was SO rude to my mother and I. When we got to the car to take the test, she was barking directions to me, and I WAS following them, but I couldn't hear her because she was standing behind the car. When I asked her to repeat them, she started screaming at me! It was totally uncalled for! My mom, who is so nice by the way, was was asking me a question (and she didn't know she wasn't supposed to talk!) and the lady yelled at her! Then the lady FAILED me because she said "i couldn't follow directions". I just can't believe it. She was SO mean to my mother and I, and I was following directions, and she fails me before I even left the lot! I didn't even get to drive! My mom got out of the car and started yelling at the lady, then went to the RMV to complain. I mean, I understood the RMV people were mean, but this lady was just plain EVIL. Anyone who can make a mother and daughter cry, needs help. I'm just fuming mad right now. How can the RMV people treat anyone that way?
